Would you like a side order of snake with your coffee?

Two men were taken into custody following a disturbance involving a snake at this Tim Horton's restaurant in Saskatoon.


(CTV NEWS SASKATOON) SASKATOON, Canada – Staff at a Saskatoon Tim Horton’s fled the restaurant Monday morning after two men threw a snake behind the coffee shop’s counter.

Police were called to the 22nd Street and Avenue F location at 7:30 am. and took two men into custody.

Staff told police that the two men were arguing with an employee about how they wanted their sandwiches. “The men wanted their onions diced,” the police releases said.

According to police, the argument escalated, and one man reached into his friend’s coat, pulled out a snake, threw it behind the counter. Officers quickly found the slithering animal and determined it wasn’t poisonous.

No one was hurt in the incident, and police located the two men and took them into custody. They are facing charges of mischief and causing a disturbance.

The snake has been taken to a temporary home until it can be released back into the wild this spring.
