Woman covered in blood arrested for Marco Island homicide
(NBC-2.COM) MARCO ISLAND, Fla. – Deputies say a 24-year-old woman was covered in blood when she walked into a Marco Island convenience store early Tuesday morning and told the clerk she’d killed someone.
Lisa Troemner is charged with second-degree murder for the death of her live-in boyfriend, 30-year-old Trevor Smith.
Detectives say Troemner and Smith had been arguing for several hours inside their condo at 886 Park Avenue #501. They say while the couple was in the bedroom, she grabbed a knife and stabbed Smith to death.
Just before 2 am., she walked into the 7-Eleven at 600 Bald Eagle Drive on Marco, covered in blood.
Police met Troemner at the store and she directed them to the condo. Officers found Smith dead in the bedroom.
Ann Murphy lives nearby and said: “I’m completely shocked – I’ve never heard anything happen … It’s very, very shocking.”
According to her Facebook page, the two met in March.
The victim’s brother lives on the island and says Trevor was a great guy and that friends and family gathered Tuesday to grieve.
Troemner is being held in the Collier County Jail – and is expected to make a first court appearance on Wednesday. Investigators were at the scene most of the day, carrying items out of the couple’s home.
The last murder in Marco was in 2007, according to information from Florida Department of Law Enforcement documents.
