Two men arrested as deputies seize three pounds of pot
(BTLS Staff) PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Two men were arrested and nearly three pounds of marijuana seized Thursday morning in a narcotics bust in Punta Gorda.
Douglas Mark Stroman Jr., a 20-year-old Charlotte County resident, and Christopher A. Landry, a 21-year-old Gulfport, Mississippi man are facing a variety of drug-related charges.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office report just after 7 am deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The warrant was executed by members of the Narcotics Unit with assistance from the SWAT Team.
A search of one bedroom in the home turned up plastic baggies containing more than 150 grams of pot and $2,500 in cash.
Deputies also found $1,235 in Stroman’s pocket and a book bag containing 14 glass jars filled with more than 400 grams of marijuana.
Detectives allege that Stroman sold varying amounts of the illegal weed to undercover deputies on five separate occasions in 2014. He is facing charges from each of those incidents.
Deputies also confiscated numerous items used for smoking pot and a total of 2.93 pounds of the drug was seized from the home. They also collected $5,105 under the Florida Contraband Act.
Both Stroman and Landry were booked into the Charlotte County Jail where they are being held without bond pending their first appearance before a judge.
