Keaton, 24, is facing manslaughter, assault and endangerment charges.

(AZ PHOENIX, Ariz. – A Phoenix woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of injuring six people and killing one 5-year-old in a 2014 car crash, court records show.

When police arrested Aaronessa Rebecca Keaton this week and told her of the 5-year-old who had died in the wreck, she replied “s–t happens,” according to court records.

Police said Keaton, 24, was driving near 83rd Ave. and Osborn Rd. at about 7:15 pm on February 28, 2014 when she veered into oncoming traffic and sideswiped a car in the left turn-lane.

Keaton’s SUV continued across the northbound lanes of 83rd Avenue and collided nearly head on with a 2007 Nissan Frontier that was driving north in the right lane, police said.

Everyone in the truck and SUV suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision, police said.

The two vehicles were occupied by a total of seven people, including two children.

Both children were severely injured and immediately transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where the 5-year-old child was pronounced dead and the other child was treated for several fractures and incapacitating injuries, records show.

Keaton was on probation for marijuana possession charges at the time of the wreck.

Keaton, who was pregnant at the time of the collision, was found to have marijuana and Benzodiazepines in her system, records show.

The case was submitted to a grand jury, which returned an indictment. A warrant for Keaton’s arrest was issued this year and she was arrested on Monday on suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated assault and endangerment, according to court records.
