‘Two penises’ spotted, one man arrested
PUNTA GORDA: A Charlotte County man is accused of using a device commonly known as a “Whizzinator” to pass off a clean urine sample as his own. He thought he’d found a creative way to pass a drug test, but ended up in jail anyway.
Punta Gorda police say, 33-year-old Paul Hanna thought he could outsmart his probation officer.
Cops say that part of Hanna’s probation is to submit to a drug test, but while taking the test his probation officer noticed something that seemed different.
“It looked like the person had two penises,” said Troy Bettencourt, of the Punta Gorda Police Department.
The probation officer then found a device, commonly known as a Whizzinator, on Hanna.
“There’s a fake penis that connects to medical tubing that then goes to a bag or container where the person would get urine, that presumably doesn’t have any drugs in it, from a family member or friend,” Bettencourt explained.
Cops say that it was not the first time that they’ve seen somebody on probation trying to use a clean urine device.
“It’s not entirely, incredibly rare. We would estimate maybe four to five times over the last three years,” said Bettencourt.
Hanna is now behind bars for violating his probation.
“It goes to show just the lengths that these folks will go to try to subvert the system,” said Bettencourt.
Even pro athletes have been caught with a Whizzinator. Five years ago, Minnesota Vikings running back Onterrio Smith was detained at an airport for carrying the device in his bag.
