Travolta Flying Medical Supplies To Haiti

January 26th, 2010 by

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (clickorlando)– John Travolta on Monday will fly his Boeing 707 to Haiti, taking medical supplies to victims in the earthquake-ravaged island country.

Travolta, who has starred in Pulp Fiction and other blockbuster movies and lives outside Ocala in Jumbolair Aviation Estates, teamed up Halifax Health to aid in his relief mission.

The medical center collected much-needed medical supplies, including several pallets of tetanus vaccine, IV solutions and sets, crutches, plaster casting supplies, surgical gloves, bandages, masks and gowns.

“There is such a tremendous need in Haiti right now and it really is important to do whatever we can to provide assistance,” said Ann Martorano, chief marketing officer of Halifax Health. “Halifax Health as an organization continues to look for opportunities to assist in the relief efforts and we are especially proud of our physicians and employees who both individually and corporately have stepped up to offer their money, skills and time to the people of Haiti.”

Other organizations, including Medline, also contributed to the relief effort.
More than 150,000 were killed in the earthquake, and hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless, according to the Haiti government.

More than 80 flights carrying nearly 7,000 evacuees have landed at Sanford-Orlando International Airport.

    Hey Bubba,
Just a quick comment about John Travolta. don’t charity begin at home.Where was he today when all the migrant workers were at the soup kitchens trying to get something to eat or a place to stay. I guess the freeze that we got in south florida isn’t national news worthy.Where will all the stars be when the deal is completed to by out U.S.Sugar
Company so the state can restore the Everglades. And where is the state going to get the money for this purchase. This
purchase will shut down most of the jobs around the Lake Okeechobee area. We need to keep our money at home. I feel the plight of these ppeople but I gave through my taxes that sent the hospital ship over and then didnt get used for 2 days.Lets help out America for a change. As a vet my benefits get cut every day how about some releif money for the veterans. Remeber A COUNTRY THAT DOSEN’T REMBER WHO DEFENDS THEM IS SOON FORGETTEN.THANKS FOR LETTING ME GET ON MY SOAPBOX BUT SOMETIMES THE SO CALLED STARS SHOULD LOOK AROUND. they need to get grounded and take care of people who take care of them.

Looking forwars to seeing you at the Hendry County Speedway
    this year.
