VIRGINIA BEACH — A teenage girl was stabbed outside a home on Ego Dr. near Oceana on Sunday afternoon.

Police arrested 46-year-old Patricia Ann McLean and charged her with malicious assault.

A Virginia Beach Forensics Unit was on the scene today collecting evidence outside McLean’s home.

Neighbors say she stabbed the 15-year-old after an argument between a group of teens, one of whom was McLean’s daughter. Neighbors believe the fight was about a TV that was stolen from McLean’s house.

The victim’s aunt, Janet Campbell, lives down the street and says her niece wasn’t involved in the argument; she was in the neighborhood helping a friend move.

Campbell says, “Surprising that a grown woman would stab a child. It stays between teens if teens are fighting. But my niece wasn’t and she was just a victim.”

McLean is being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center. She declined our request for an interview.
