South Florida DJ arrested after turning himself in to police with dead body in car

DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) — Authorities have arrested a man after he told police there was a dead body in his car.

According to investigators, 30-year-old Juan Portieles, also known as DJ Seasunz, entered the Miami-Dade Police Department Headquarters in Doral Sunday night to surrender himself and inform officers that a dead body was inside his car.

Jaclyn Torrealba, 18, and the subject, Juan Portieles were involved in a verbal dispute. The altercation escalated and Portieles struck Torrealba repeatedly. He then began to chock her until she stopped breathing. According to investigators, Portieles was with the body inside his car for more than 12 hours asking friends for advice. “According to the arrest affidavit that homicide detectives has provided, it states that he visited these acquaintances and told them about his involvement regarding what had occurred, and he told them that she was in the vehicle,” said Zabaleta

After turning himself in, Portieles directed police to his gray Toyota Camry. “The officers verified that there was a deceased person inside the car. The car has been moved from the parking lot to the medical examiners office to be processed,” said Miami-Dade Police Department, Detective Alvaro Zabaleta.

The 30-year-old has been charged with 2nd degree murder.

Family members described Torrealba as a stellar student who just graduated high school.
