RI Deomacratic Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Caprio Tells Obama to “Shove It”

October 26th, 2010 by Staff

Source: Gather — Democratic candidate for governor, Frank Caprio, was told Monday morning by the press that President Obama would not be endorsing him for Governor.

Obama was already planning on being in Rhode Island today to make a speech. When the White House Press asked if he would be giving Caprio a “much needed boost” in his close race, the president’s Deputy Director of Communications responded,”He’s not planning on making an endorsement in the race tomorrow.”

The message was repeated to Caprio during a radio interview this morning. He grew agitated and pointed out that he had never asked President Obama for an endorsement in the first place. He then said, “He can take his endorsement and really shove it.”

He told the press that if Obama wanted the support of Rhode Island, he missed out on that in March of 2010 when Rhode Island was involved in some of the worst floods the United States had ever seen. The president didn’t even do a fly over to take int he damage.
According to Fox News, Frank Caprio is billing himself as a “different kind of Democrat” and says he will wear this non-endorsement by Obama proudly. He does not want to be associated with the president.
