Qualcomm Stadium worker dies after fall from press box

News 8 has learned that the worker who fell from a press box at Qualcomm Stadium before the Chargers’ game with the Denver Broncos Monday night has died.
The man, identified as Walt Daniels, fell about 25 to 30 feet out of an upper level press box that was to be used by Broncos assistant coaches and landed on the loge level. The fall occurred approximately three hours before the nationally televised football game began, and caused a delay in opening at the gates at Qualcomm.
He was administered CPR before being taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital. News 8 learned that Daniels died at Sharp sometime Tuesday morning.
No official cause of death has been released.
