Principal’s E-Mail Generates Storm Of Controversy

COCONUT GROVE (CBS4) ― Principal Eva N. Ravelo of Coconut Grove Elementary School may want to double-check her intended e-mail recipient before hitting send. She is under fire after sending an e-mail to a parent.

In the e-mail, the 44-year-old Ravelo replied to Abigail DuBearn’s question by saying, “Advise her to eat sh– and die.”

The principal has since said that the email was meant to be sent to her assistant principal instead of the parent who posed a question. Parents at the school reacted strongly and expressed concern.

“It’s really shocking to see the principal of our school to write something like that,” said parent Elsa Wong. Another parent, Erika Rogers echoed a similar sentiment. “I would definitely think she needs to rethink how she would react to something, especially being someone who is an authority.”

The incident is under investigation by the Miami-Dade County School District.
