MIAMI — Police investigators are trying to determine which officer shot and killed a man armed with a machete near the Metro Justice building in Miami.

Investigators said no one seems to know what agitated the suspect, who was aiming the blade of a machete at another man around 6:30 p.m. Saturday under the 836 bridge.

A corrections officer who was in the area of Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 12th Street asked Miami police officers for help. Within minutes many officers rushed to the scene.

“The corrections officer flagged down the Miami police officer and what transpired after that is unknown at this time. It is part of the investigation and it’s preliminary,” said Officer Kenia Alfonso of the Miami Police Department.

The name of the suspect has not been released.

Who cares who shot him? If you tote a machete in public and near a Justice building what do you expect will happen? Our jails and hospitals are full of these retards. The only reason I want to know who shot him is so that I can send him a thank you note.
