West Melbourne, Florida – The naked jogger who was tazed by West Melbourne police this week was released on his own recognizance and will have to appear in court on charges for indecent exposure and resisting arrest without violence.

Anthony Zak King, 18, of Palm Bay was taken down along Hollywood Boulevard near Eber Road early Monday as he was jogging wearing nothing but swimming goggles.

Cmdr. Steve Wilkinson said King could not have been caught without the Taser, adding that King was speaking incoherently but was also apologetic for inconveniencing police.

He was admitted to Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne for evaluation and to be treated for bruises and abrasions suffered when he fell to the ground.

“He was arrested and released,” Wilkinson said Tuesday afternoon. King was still in the hospital Tuesday evening.
