Morgan set to compete as King’s replacement

Source: Chicago Sun-Times — “America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan, hired by CNN to replace Larry King as a prime-time interviewer in January, promised that he “came here to win.”

King, who announced in June he was leaving “Larry King Live,” will have his final show on Dec. 16.

“I have always spent my life in ferocious ratings or circulation wars,” said Morgan, a British tabloid journalist. “It’s what gets me going in the morning, and I want to combine brilliant interviews with great ratings.”

He described his interviewing style as “journalistic rigor with a twinkle in the eye and a little bit of mischief.”
