Man arrested for faking death; Sex change

June 10th, 2011 by Staff — A couple who lost custody of their children tried to win them back by faking the husband’s death so he could start a new life as a woman and avoid a number of arrest warrants.

The couple, from Oklahoma – who are now divorced – lost custody of their children after their daughter came home to find William Scot Davis, 42, having sex with a blow-up doll.

He later promised estranged wife Heather Dawn Davis, 43, that he would give up his parental rights to the children if, in return, she would help him fake his death so he could have a sex change operation and start a new life as a woman.

He would then come back into the children’s lives with a new identity. It would also have helped him avoid a number of arrest warrants for him.

The couple have been charged with false reporting of a crime but could face further charges.

According to a police report, the woman reported the man missing in late May after she said she had taken him to the nearby lake for some fishing.

According to court records, she admitted: ‘William told her he would give up his parental rights to their children and get a sex change if she assisted him in the faked death.’

She also allegedly said she wanted her husband out of her life for good.

Stillwater police Captain Randy Dickerson said: ‘He had some outstanding warrants and there was visitation issues. So the plan was to report him missing so he could get a sex change operation. Then he could return to the family with a different identity.’

They are being held at Payne County Jail in lieu of $10,000 each.

The couple’s neighbours at their trailer park told News Channel 4 that they thought the idea was crazy.

RC Cox said: ‘Why give up your kids and mess that up to help him out? I’d have told him to jump in a lake somewhere.’
