Lindsay Lohan hires Chicago-based criminal defense lawyer Stuart V. Goldberg after DUI arrest

July 12th, 2010 by Staff – Lindsay Lohan is hoping that a new lawyer will help find her new freedom.

The troubled actress will hire Stuart V. Goldberg, a criminal defense attorney from Chicago, TMZ reported.

Her previous lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, called it quits last week. Holley didn’t give a reason for the split. Her last public statement had been that the Mean Girls star was ready to go to jail.

Lohan, 24, was sentenced to three consecutive 30-day terms — plus 90days of rehab — for breaking her probation on two 2007 DUI convictions.

According to the gossip website, Goldberg met with Lohan’s sister Ali and mother Dina for six hours on Friday.

Lohan called the lawyer herself and asked if he would fly to Los Angeles.

A teary-eyed Lohan begged for mercy in court last week, arguing the judge never made it clear when she was supposed to actually go for alcohol counseling.

The Freaky Friday actress is scared to death about being put behind bars, her mother said.

“It’s very difficult, we’re not sleeping well, we’re not functioning,” Dina told Entertainment Tonight. “We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She’s petrified, we all are.”
