Lil Wayne’s Miami Mansion Raided, Assets Seized by Police

November 4th, 2015 by Staff

Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion was raided by police and his assets were seized on orders from a judge stemming from a civil case involving the rapper and a private jet leasing company, local station WSVN reports.

Helicopter footage from the scene captured authorities hauling items from Wayne’s house into a truck, including what appeared to be wrapped artwork.

Last month, Signature Group successfully sued Wayne for $2 million over missed payments. At the time, according to court documents obtained by the Miami New Times, Miami-Dade County Judge Lisa S. Walsh denied Signature’s request for a “break order” — which would allow police to enter Wayne’s house with or without permission — because the group couldn’t prove there were valuable assets on the premises.

Walsh, however, reversed her decision and signed a new order on Friday, October 30th. Her decision was partially based on an affidavit from a real estate agent who, according to Signature’s suit, “had recently been inside the defendant’s home and attested that there was assets inside.”

Neither Lil Wayne, nor a representative for the rapper, has yet to comment on the raid or repossession.

Even with the lawsuit — and other ongoing legal battles — Wayne has remained busy as ever on the mic. The rapper recently appeared alongside Chris Brown and Big Sean on a track from DJ Khaled’s new album, I Changed a Lot, as well as R. Kelly’s new single, “Switch Up.” On Monday, Weezy announced on Twitter that he’ll release a new mixtape, No Ceilings 2, on Thanksgiving.
