Kamasutra a term in classroom, parents shocked

LEE COUNTY: Kamasutra is being taught in a Lee County school as a vocabulary word. Parents we spoke with say lovemaking and the classroom shouldn’t mix. But the school’s principal says Kamasutra is simply a part of India’s literary history.

A handful of parents are shocked about what their kids are reading in their history book. Kamasutra is a vocabulary word for the students and it’s creating one huge stir.

“It has no place in the classroom – especially if the parents aren’t aware that the subject is being broached,” said parent Shane Driscoll.

Gateway Charter teaches the word as part of an advanced placement course on world civilizations. Officials there say the textbook and vocabulary list are AP regulated on a national scale.

Gateway Charter Principal Joe Roles wouldn’t go on camera Wednesday, but issued the following statement: “It is our responsibility to teach the approved curriculum in the context in which it is presented.”

Tenth grader Elijah Hayter said he was already familiar with the term.

“It’s the book of all the different sexual positions,” he said.

Renga Sunderesan, President of the Hindu Temple of Southwest Florida, says the doctrine’s meaning has changed over time.

“That piece of literature has attracted world-wide attention,” he explained.

He went on to say it dates back to India in the third century and lays out basic rules of love and marriage per Hindu law – including the spirituality of lovemaking.

But today, it may mostly be known for its erotic illustrations of sexual positions.

The parents we spoke with said learning about what they call the art of sex is unacceptable.

“In return we want you to understand that while this is a college class, you are teaching it to 15-year-old-students,” said parent Kelly Driscoll.

“That’s just one of those things you learn as you go through life. It’s not that anybody sits down and says, ‘Hey this is Kamasutra. Let me teach you about it,’” added Shane Driscoll.

But officials at Gateway Charter say as long as the term Kamasutra is on AP tests, it’ll be brought up in classrooms.

This is another fine example of the pussyfication of america. how are children created again? Exactly, sex. These parents are the most hypocritical bunch of fools ever, that “conservitive” way of thinking isn’t fooling anyone.
