www.dailymail.co.uk – A 67-year-old homeless man has died after being punched and knocked to the ground during a scuffle with a Burger King employee.
An autopsy found Paul Cannon died from blunt force trauma to the head after the fight outside the restaurant in Detroit.
Early reports had suggested the punch caused Mr Cannon to choke on his own dentures, but the medical examiner’s office has ruled this out.
The 20-year-old employee is being held by police, but has not been charged.
Police said Mr Cannon was reportedly causing a disturbance at the restaurant on the city’s east side and tried to hit the work, who struck back.
Sergeant Eren Stephens said: ‘A verbal argument occurred. It escalated into a physical altercation.’
Jerome Perdu, 59, who works as a security guard and said he was at the restaurant at the time, described watching paramedics try to revive Mr Cannon.
The restaurant was crowded at the time, he said.

‘I just seen him lying on the floor. EMS was pumping him.’
Mr Cannon died at a hospital. His last known address was in Detroit.
Denise Wilson, a spokesman for Miami-based Burger King, said the franchise owner was cooperating with Detroit police.
‘The safety and security of all guests and crew members is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants,’ she said in a statement.
