Gainesville Pastor Says He Won’t Apologize

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A local pastor who put himself into the spotlight last week, with a plan to burn hundreds of Korans, went back in front of the cameras.
The Rev. Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville called a news conference for 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Jones said he has been asked a number of questions by a group called the World Evangelical Alliance and wanted to respond to them.
“We have no conviction from God to repent. Therefore, we have no intention and will not repent for standing up for the gospel,” Jones said.
The church called off plans for Saturday night’s Koran-burning event after worldwide pressure and violence overseas.
