FORT MYERS: Detectives arrested a 40-year-old man Thursday after they discovered a seven-pound package of pot sent to his address, according to the Lee County Sheirff’s Office.

George Bostick, of 15290 Cemetary Road in Fort Myers, was charged with Marijuana Distribution, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription.

According to an incident report, an informant alerted a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit about the package Thursday morning.

The package, according to the Sheriff’s Office, was sent to a “Dan Crisp” at Bostick’s address, and was being held at a Port Charlotte shipping facility.

Authorities visited the facility, where a drug-sniffing dog detected drugs in the package.

Detectives executed a search warrant and discovered the package included a toolbox containing five bricks of pot weighing seven pounds with an estimated street value of $28,000.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit delivered the package, and as they tried to conduct a search warrant on his home, he attempted to take off in his truck, the report said.

Authorities searched his home and found the marijuana along with several items indicating he was involved in pot distribution, detectives said.

They also discovered a kit containing injectable steroids and hypodermic needles, according to the report.

He was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail for booking.
