Source: Metro.co.uk — Barbie has caused considerable controversy in her 51-year career and is now at the heart of a child pornography scare.

The latest Barbie incarnation has a necklace for a camera and a LCD screen in her back intended for children to have fun making films with. But the FBI has issued a warning that the doll could be used as a ‘possible child pornography production method’.

They acknowledge however that no such illegal actions have actually come to pass.

‘The FBI is not reporting that anything has happened. It has confirmed there have been no incidents of this doll being used as anything other than its intent.’

The FBI warning was meant for law agencies eyes only, but in a huge blunder was accidentally sent to media outlets in Seattle.

The doll (pictured) sports cropped jeans, zebra-print gilet and a bright pink top. The camera is concealed inside the Barbie and is not immediately visible when looking at the doll.

Mattel issued a statement defending the doll, the company said: ‘Mattel products are designed with children and their best interests in mind.

‘Many of Mattel’s employees are parents themselves and we understand the importance of child safety. It is our number one priority.
