Farah Fawcett Doing Better

April 6th, 2009 by admin

Farrah Fawcett is being treated for anal cancer that has spread to her liver and has been hospitalized for a complication from a routine treatment, a producer who worked with the actress and her doctor said Monday, The Associated Press reported.

In separate phone interviews with AP, Fawcett’s producer and her doctor said that Fawcett is in a Los Angeles hospital, recovering from complications from a medical procedure in Germany, and is “not on death’s door,” as the producer, Craig Nevius, put it.

The 62-year-old actress, who is best known for starring in Charlie’s Angels, has battled cancer for three years. People magazine reports that she is currently unconscious, but stable in the hospital. She’s currently surrounded in the hospital by Ryan O’Neal, her longtime partner with whom she had Redmond, their 24-year-old son who was kicked out of rehab on Wednesday after failing a drug test.

There’s no word at this point if Redmond was the cause of Fawcett’s hospitalization, but because Fawcett battled drug addiction throguhout her life, it seems like at least a possibility.

According to widespread media reports, she is critical but stable.
