Ex Stabbed, Lit Girl On Fire

August 20th, 2009 by

CLERMONT, Fla. – A teen who said she is friends with a girl who was burned and stabbed Wednesday morning said the boy who attacked her is an ex-boyfriend.

Katilynn McCroy said Taylor Mack, 14, is at the hospital recovering from burns and stab wounds following a violent confrontation with ex-boyfriend, Calva James Haskell, 15.

“She is the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life. It’s really sad to think that would happen to her,” McCroy said.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said a girl was stabbed several times by a 15-year-old boy who then squirted a flammable liquid on her and set her ablaze. It happened at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Greater Pines subdivision in Clermont.

Clermont police said the girl had sneaked out of her house to meet up with Haskell.

McCroy said Mack was still interested in Haskell, even though he had reportedly moved on to another girl.

“He would say mean things to make her sad, nothing that’s physical at all,” McCroy said. “He never seemed to be that type of kid. He was very popular. Very into sports. Jock. Got along with everybody. I would have never suspected he would have done that.”

Deputies said the girl went to a neighbor’s house for help and was taken to a hospital by emergency officials. Officials said the girl is in serious condition. It is not known if her injuries are life-threatening.

Deputies tracked Haskell to his home, where he was arrested without incident.

Haskell has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

I know Taylor personally. I went to school with both her parents. This was not supposed to happen. Not only is Taylor well behaved but she is very respectful and both her parents are abiding citizens. I cannot express My feelings I am so overwhelmed by emotions. Last I saw Taylor, she was cheerleading and she is good friends with both of My neices. My heart is bleeding. My words are out numbered. My love for Taylor cannot be expressed. Dale and Tiffany may God be with you at this time, how do I say I’m sorry? I cannot imagine this to be true. All I see is Taylor’s smile at my mother’s house. We ate dinner together. Her father and I laughed together. Her mother and I have traveled the same path. Please accept my sympathy and know that I am praying and I love you I love you I love. I love you Taylor

What!! Well I guess not many people understand some men are just crazy. This kid will pay for what he did to this poor girl. Setting fire to someone is beyond mean. That’s like death penalty. They should make him face her in the hospital to see what he did. If he doesn’t cry then he isn’t a man nor a human. Nuff said
