TAMPA, Florida – An elderly disabled man was killed at his Armenia Ave. business Wednesday in what detectives believe was a “violent robbery.”

According to the Tampa Police Department (TPD), Salvatore Agostino, 73, died from undisclosed upper-body trauma. The scooter-bound man was supposed to be working at the pawn/cash-for-gold shop at 811 N. Armenia Ave. on Wednesday but police don’t know when he was murdered.

His brother saw the side door of the business open Wednesday about 5 p.m. He called inside, but got no response, so he dialed 911. Upon entering the business, TPD found Agostino dead.

Although there are no suspects at the moment, TPD is working several leads. They are asking for the public’s help for any additional information regarding the nature of the crime or possible suspects.
