SEMINOLE, Fla. – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Seminole men after they allegedly assaulted two men dressed as beer bottles, and one of them is now fighting for his life.

Deputies say, Allen McGuiness, 52, and James Benevento,36, were sitting in the front yard wearing beer bottle costumes when Timothy Valentine, 23 and a 17-year-old juvenile acquaintance walked by. The groups exchanged words, eventually Valentine and the juvenile continued walking.

Valentine and his friend returned a short time later and the four men began to argue again. The verbal argument escalated into a fight. McGuiness and Benevento were taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where McGuiness is fighting for his life from head injuries.

Valentine and the teenager jumped into a vehicle, with two females inside and the car fled the scene. The car dropped them off a short time later at the Leisure Mobile Home Park in Pinellas Park. That is where deputies caught up with them and placed them under arrest.

Both are arrested for two-counts of felony aggravated battery.

The teenager was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center. Valentine is now in the Pinellas County Jail.

Investigators say it is unclear what sparked the incident but will continue to investiagate.
