Deputies: Hillsborough woman used stun gun on children

November 19th, 2009 by

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (ABC)– The Urban Place Apartments are close to the University of South Florida.

“It’s right on the edge of campus. It’s kind of geared toward students,” according to neighbor Jeff Stull.

But a family lives in apartment #102, including a mom who has been accused of horrible crimes against the children that were in her care.

Deputies say seven children, ranging in age from 10-years-old to an 11-month-old baby, were her victims. They say Stacey Horace took discipline to frightening measures behind closed blinds.

A man who says he’s close to the family told us Horace is innocent. “The allegations are false,” he told reporters from her front porch.

Deputies, however, tell a different story about how she disciplined the children.

“She used belts, hammers, wooden spoons, electrical cords, one is supposed to be a stun gun that she utilized,” said Debbie Carter with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Carter also says the children were covered in marks and bruises.

Horace was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Orient Road Jail. An arrest affidavit says the children told police she urinated on them and held their heads underwater.

“I’ve gotten a belt. That wasn’t surprising. You have to discipline your kids. Stun guns, urinating on your kids?” questioned neighbor Stull.

The seven children are in the care of family members.

This is heinous I agree, but why are cops allowed to use tazers on children?

Cops aren’t using tasers for disciplining kids.
They use them when they aren’t cooperating aren’t obeying the law. It has nothing to do with what she was doing to the kids.
