Cheney’s Release Is Expected Soon
Source: The New York Times — Former Vice President Dick Cheney could be released from the hospital as early as Monday after being treated for a heart ailment, one of his daughters said Sunday.
“He’s feeling better, and I’m hopeful he’ll be released tomorrow,†his daughter Liz Cheney said on “Fox News Sunday.â€
“He’s had coronary artery disease, you know, for as long as I can remember, and I’m sure he’ll deal with this situation the way he’s dealt with every one in the past, which is to work with his doctors,†she said.
Mr. Cheney, 69, who has been having heart problems since he was in his late 30s, had a minor heart attack in February. Before that, he had had four heart attacks, quadruple-bypass surgery and two procedures to unclog his arteries.
In July 2007, Mr. Cheney had a defibrillator replaced and received electric shocks to correct irregular heart rhythms.
