Bubba The Love Sponge Re-ups With Cox And The Bone
COX Classic Rocker WHPT (102.5 THE BONE)/TAMPA longtime morning man BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE, who was without a contract toward the close of 2011, (NET NEWS 12/19), tells ALL ACCESS that he’s back in the saddle and will return to the air TOMORROW (1/4) with a new four-year deal in hand.
BUBBA wouldn’t confirm that the deal was worth a rumored $2 million a year, but did tell ALL ACCESS, “After thinking about it for a long, long time, I decided to go back to the company that believed in me enough four years ago.
“This is the first time in my radio career that I was a true free agent. It’s nice going to market and getting a ton of great offers, and a big thank-you to those that were interested. But in the end I needed to come back to the company that stepped up and hired me when I was blackballed from terrestrial radio.”

Great, now we got another 4 years of the FM show being the primary focus, and a halfassed 2 hour radioio show. Gotta go where the money is I guess.
