Rated #1 with Persons and Men 25-54; Also Surpasses Bob & Tom Show with Persons 12+

TAMPA, FLORIDA – AUGUST 7, 2009 – During his first six months in the Ft. Myers-Naples-Marco Island market, the audience for syndicated morning radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge® already surpasses many more established morning radio programs in the market, according to the latest (Spring 2009) Arbitron radio ratings, covering the period from April 2 to June 24, 2009.

In his first ratings period since his 6am-10am Monday-Friday morning show began airing on Beasley Broadcast Group’s WRXK-FM (96.1 K-Rock) in January, Bubba’s show possesses the number-one ranking with the coveted Persons 25-54 demographic, obtaining a 8.2 AQH (average quarter hour) share. He’s also number one with Men 25-54, with a 10.6 AQH share. For comparison, before Bubba, WRXK had a 1.6 AQH share with Men 25-54 during mornings, and was not even ranked in the top ten.

Bubba the Love Sponge®’s show is broadcast live from his Tampa studios on Cox Radio’s WHPT-FM/ Tampa (102.5 The Bone), which is also heard and rated in the Ft. Myers-Naples-Marco Island Market. On WHPT, Bubba adds a 1.7 AQH share with Persons 25-54 for a total 9.9 AQH share, and a 2.6 AQH share with Men 25-54, for a total 13.2 AQH share.

Additionally, Bubba the Love Sponge®’s rating with the Persons 12+ demographic is a 5.0 AQH share, which combined with his 1.0 AQH share morning show ratings in the market on WHPT gives him a total 6.0 rating with the 12+ demographic.

In contrast, WARO-FM’s Bob & Tom morning show obtained only a 5.8 AQH share with Persons 25-54, a 6.2 with Men 25-54, and a 4.7 with Persons 12+.

Along with WRXK/Ft, Myers and WHPT/Tampa, Bubba the Love Sponge®’s live morning talk and entertainment program is currently broadcast on WFYV-FM/Jacksonville (Rock 105), WHDR-FM/Miami (93 Rock), WHTQ-FM/Orlando (96.5), WDYL-FM/Richmond (Y101 Rocks), and WZLR-FM/Dayton (95.3 The Eagle). I live in Titusville in the Orlando market and I’m a 37 year old single white male who is employed full time as a line cook. My girlfriend used to listen to Lex & Terry on WJRR until I turned her on to Bubba and now she and all my friends listen to Bubba on WHTQ.
We would all be devestated if WHTQ drops The Bubba The Love Sponge Show. The Monsters on WTKS suck but alot of people listen to them..Bubba you guys gotta turn up the heat on Orlando..your competeing with MJ on Kiss 95.1, Lex & Terry on WJRR, The Monsters on Real Radio, Steve Harvey on 102 Jamz,Tom Joyner on Star94.5, Johnny & Jade on XL106.7..the point is you are ten times better than all of them. Bubba turn up the heat in Orlando..go to war with the others and the Bubba Army will make you number 1 in Orlando & Brevard County. I’ve got a WHTQ sticker on my car & I tell everyone to listen to you so I’m advertising as best I can.
