Brecksville resident charged for assaulting children at Brecksville playground

BRECKSVILLE – An investigation by Brecksville police, has resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Laura M. Molnar, of Brecksville.

According to a statement issued today by Brecksville Prosecutor Sergio DiGeronimo, police were notified at approximately 1:10 p.m. May 25 that a 4-year-old child was assaulted at the Kids Quarters playground on Community Drive near the Brecksville Community Center.

Molnar fled the scene, but with the help of eyewitnesses, officers were able to track her down. According to the release, Molnar intentionally harmed at least three small children when she sprayed pepper spray at their their faces.

Brecksville police charged Molnar with three second-degree felony counts of felonious assault. Her initial appearance in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas is set for 1:45 p.m. May 31.

According to DiGeronimo, the children involved were treated and released and were not being identified.
