BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Three teens are charged with kidnapping and armed robbery after a boy was held hostage in Brunswick.

Police responded to the Morning Tide complex Saturday night. One of the victims, a 39 year old man, told them it started when he was picking up a young woman who just had her hair done. The 16 year old asked the victim for $20 to pay the woman who did her hair. When he refused, he says the stylist’s boyfriend, Marquise Timms, pulled out a gun.

According to investigators, Timms then pulled the victim’s seven year old son from the car until his father handed over the cash. Timms threw the boy to the pavement. He suffered minor scrapes to his hands.

The victim says Timms, the hair stylist Jalescia Hawkins and the girl then ran from the area into an unlocked downstairs apartment occupied by a six year old boy. They would not allow the child to leave. The child’s mother had walked into the parking lot to see what was going on when the offenders ran into the apartment.

After approximately one hour of negotiations, the suspects surrendered without incident.
