‘Boner’ found dead in Canada

www.nypost.com – Friends searching a Vancou ver park yesterday found the body of missing “Growing Pains” actor Andrew Koenig, authorities said.
At a press conference in Stanley Park, police said foul play was not suspected.
The body was discovered around noon in a heavily wooded area about 100 feet from a foot path in the huge park, authorities said.
The actor’s father, Walter Koenig — who played Pavel Chekov on the original “Star Trek” TV series — said his son “took his own life.”
Search teams had been combing the park for a few days because Koenig — who played Boner on “Growing Pains” — enjoyed spending time there, according to a CTV news report.

Koenig, 41, had been missing since Feb. 14, when he was last seen in Vancouver. He’d been visiting friends.
His sister, Danielle, appeared Tuesday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”
Walter Koenig and his wife, Judith, were supposed to be on the closing minutes of Wednesday night’s King show via satellite from Vancouver, to update the case.
But they walked off the show, reportedly because they were disappointed at their lack of airtime to talk about their missing son.
Koenig gained fame as Richard “Boner” Stabone, buddy of Kirk Cameron’s Mike Seaver character, on “Growing Pains,” which aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992.
