80 Cats Removed From Clay Co. Home

March 23rd, 2011 by Staff

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Animal Control workers said they found more than 80 cats inside a Clay County home Tuesday with no one caring for them.
Workers said there were so many cats removed from the home on Rod Road that they ran out of crates.
Clay County Fire Rescue’s Hazmat team had to be called to the house because of heavy traces of ammonia from cat waste.
The cats were said to be in good shape but had to be taken away because they were not being looked after.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowners also have an address in Mandarin.
There was no word on if any charges will be filed.
