7-Year-Old Sexually Assaulted In Book Store

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — Brevard County detectives are looking for a brazen sexual predator who assaulted a girl at a book store. The entire incident was caught on a surveillance camera on a busy Saturday night.

Investigators said the man walked into the Books-A-Million store next to the Merritt Island Mall, and checked the children’s aisles until he spotted a victim.

Detectives said it took the suspect three minutes to find a seven-year-old girl, assault her, then casually walk out of the store. Once he got outside, he took off running.

Investigators believe he could be the same man who exposed himself to an employee in the food court bathroom, weeks before this latest incident.

The suspect is described as a man 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall, and 180 lbs. Investigators believe he could be hiding tattoos on his arms, since he wore a long-sleeve shirt on a hot day.
