LEHIGH ACRES: A 12-year-old boy was arrested after deputies say he was caught by the homeowner burglarizing a home Thursday morning.

According to the report, the victim came home and heard a sound coming from the master bedroom.

When the victim entered, officials say he caught Alejandro Centeno with a book bag full of stolen items ranging from electronics to DVDs that were valued at $680.

Deputies say 12-year-old Centeno confessed to the victim that he broke in through a window.

Neighbor Sandra Hagado says the whole thing worries her because she has seen Centeno around the neighborhood.

“I have a 12-year-old son and I couldn’t imagine my son doing this. It’s surprising,” she said. “That’s what worries me. What is he learning? Where is he getting this from? Because it’s a little scary.”

“I go fishing on a boat and leave my girl home with her kid. She told me she sometimes hears stuff in the woods. It does make me concerned now that there are breaking and enterings around here,” added neighbor David Eagle.

Centeno is charged with Armed Occupied Burglary, Grand Theft and Possession of Burglary Tools.
