12-Year-Old Accidentally Runs Over, Kills Mother
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A 34-year-old woman has died after she was hit and dragged by a van with her son behind the wheel.
Twelve-year-old Julian Matta was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Dodge van parked in the driveway of a home on Massy Court in Kissimmee Saturday, when his mother walked up to the vehicle, a witness told the Florida Highway Patrol.
The boy asked for permission to turn the van on and put it into gear. His mother, Mayra Leader, of Kissimmee, said he could, according to the witness.
Suddenly the van started traveling in reverse, trapping Leader between the open driver’s door and the driver’s seat. She was dragged into the road.
The van continued in reverse and the back of the van struck a Nissan SUV parked in a driveway across the street. The SUV was pushed into the garage door of that home.
Leader died at Orlando Regional Medical Center late Saturday night.
The crash remains under investigation.

Don’t lie. If you were a boy named Julian you’d do the same thing. But “seriously”, I say we dress Julian in an alligator costume and let the 5 year old Rambo Jr. go Dirty Harry all over him.
