10-Year-Old Dies After Brother Accidentally Shoots Him

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (wsbtv)– A 10-year-old boy has died after his older brother accidentally shot him in the head.
Fayette police told Channel 2 Action News that the victim’s 12-year-old brother found their father’s 9 mm gun in the kitchen area and took it outside on the patio, where the incident happened.
It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Edmonson Way.
The child was life-flighted to Children’s Healthcare at Egleston where he later died.
Police said the father has not been charged and that the investigation continues.
