The shooting occurred at this residence on Miles Jamison Rd. on Tuesday.

(WCSC Live 5) LADSON, S.C. – A 53-year-old Ladson man charged with murder said he killed his wife in self defense.
On Wednesday afternoon, a judge denied bond for Glenn Allen Taylor who is charged with murder. Taylor was given a $100,000 bond on a possession of a weapon charge.

Taylor is accused of fatally shooting 52-year-old Stephanie Taylor at their home on Miles Jamison Road in Ladson Tuesday morning.

Taylor told a judge during a bond hearing on Wednesday that his wife was trying to hurt him, and shot her in self defense.

“I was saving my life, cause it was the other way around,” Taylor said.”She was trying to kill me and I’m in a wheelchair and I can’t do much.”

Taylor also claimed that the information in a warrant for his arrest was not accurate because it was not complete.

“The warrant is not accurate, the guys left out more than half of what I told them,” Taylor said.

According to Taylor’s father, the couple had just returned from a weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla. when the incident occurred.
Court documents released on Wednesday state that the couple were involved in an argument at their home in Ladson when Stephanie Taylor obtained a knife and attempted to destroy a painting.

According to court records, Glenn Taylor then grabbed the victim’s hand, stuck a handgun to the back of her head and pulled the trigger.

Deputies responded to the home located on the 9000 block of Miles Jamison Road for a report of a domestic disturbance involving a gun.

As a deputy was walking up to the house, he made contact with a man who was leaving the home through the front door.

According to investigators, Glenn Allen Taylor was transported to the Criminal Investigations Division where he confessed to shooting the victim in the back of the head and killing her.

Dorchester County Coroner Christopher Nisbet confirmed the victim died of a gunshot wound to the head.
