Sarasota Police seek suspect who stole sunglasses while shopping with a child

Surveillance images show the suspect putting glasses into his pants pockets.


(BTLS Staff) SARASOTA, Fla. – Authorities in Sarasota are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a shoplifting suspect.

The crime occurred on Friday between 9:30 and 10 am at the Lenscrafters location in the 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail.

According to a Sarasota Police Department report the suspect walked into the business with a little girl, a child approximately seven years of age. He walked the young girl over to the children’s section before moving over to the adult section.

The report states the unidentified white male is seen on surveillance camera placing several pair of sunglasses into his pocket. The items were concealed from plain view and the suspect departs the store with the child.

The suspect stands 5’10” tall, has a medium build, spiky hair and is clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a red and black polo shirt and dark khaki pants.

The little girl was wearing a sundress.
