Sarasota Police Department investigators seek home burglary suspect

The woman knocked on the door and left initially but returned when the sun went down to commit her crime.


(BTLS Staff) SARASOTA, Fla. – Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect.

An unidentified white female broke into a home in the 200 block of South Shade Ave. on May 21st, 2015.

According to a Sarasota Police Department report the suspect came up to the residence, knocked on the door and left when nobody answered. Police say she returned at approximately 10 pm and took a box of paintball equipment and some communication cables from the carport of the home.

Unbeknownst to the suspect, the homeowner had a surveillance camera set up. Images show the woman riding up on a bicycle and leaving. She is approximately 40 to 50 years of age and has long brown or black hair.

The suspect has a slim build and was last seen wearing a white shirt with multicolored, floral print denim sorts and flip flops.
