Report: Pam Anderson banned from Sam Simon’s funeral over ring

Anderson and Simon both supported animal rights issues.

(New York Daily News) LOS ANGELES, Calif. – D’oh!

A generous gesture by Sam Simon, co-creator of “The Simpsons,” led his family to bar fellow animal activist and “Baywatch” babe Pamela Anderson from his funeral, TMZ.com reported.

Simon’s family was infuriated to learn the dying Emmy winner gifted the curvaceous Anderson with an $800,000 ring shortly before his death from colon cancer, the celebrity web site said Saturday.

Relatives believe Anderson should have turned down the bling from Simon, a mulit-millionaire philanthropist in his years after leaving the animated TV hit.

Anderson’s manager did not return an email seeking comment on the report that she was banned from the Tuesday private funeral.

The two animal rights activists were friends, with Anderson attending Simon’s 59th — and final — birthday party last year.

The two also flew to Newfoundland in December to urge the end of seal hunting.
