Report: Female NYPD officers in hot water over sexy selfies

(WPIX.COM) NEW YORK – Certain NYPD officers could get in trouble for the snapshots they’ve been posting online.

The Daily News reports that several female officers could be docked vacation days for posting pictures of themselves in their uniforms aside photos showing them in civilian clothes, sometimes scantily clad.

PBA President Pat Lynch said there’s nothing wrong with the pictures because they show what the officers would wear in the real world.

However, the department has banned officers from posting photos of themselves online while in uniform, unless they’re at official ceremonies. A department spokesman said the policy is aimed at protecting officers and their credibility.

The officers in question posted photos to the Instagram account @blueline_beauties, which is “dedicated to law enforcement women” and features photos of female cops from around the country, some of them in uniform.

The NYPD is looking into another, similar Instagram feed — @blueline_beefcakes — to see if any male officers are posting photos of themselves in uniform.
Both accounts had been taken down by Tuesday morning.
