Shepard, 35, is facing several counts of capital sexual battery on a child.

(BTLS Staff Report) PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A 35-year-old registered sexual predator is being held without bond at the Pinellas County Jail following his arrest Monday on capital sexual battery charges.

Michael William Sheppard, who was released from state prison in 2013, allegedly assaulted a young girl and three boys between the ages of eight and 10.

According to a Pinellas Park Police Department report the suspect was granted permission to be around the children. Sheppard gained the victim’s trust by buying them games and toys.

Investigators say he also gave them money. Police believe there may be additional victims. The children in the case are not related to Shepard but are ‘known to him.’

The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed. If you have any information about the suspect please contact the Pinellas Park Police Department of if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
