Port Charlotte man arrested on sexual battery, drug charges
(BTSL Staff) PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A 29-year-old Port Charlotte man is facing sexual assault and drug charges following his arrest Friday by Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies.
Michael Jude Boccio was booked into the Charlotte County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $3 million dollars.
According to a CCSO report the victim in the sexual assault case is an eight-year-old girl known to the suspect. The child told investigators that Boccio told her he was taking her ‘mudding’ in a nearby wooded area.
The report states the suspect took off the child’s clothes and engaged her in various sexual acts. The victim gave detectives graphic details about three separate sex acts that took place.
Boccio was located at a local business shortly after midnight on Friday, March 13th and arrested him on three counts of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12.
A search warrant was issued for the suspect’s residence and executed several hours after Boccio was taken into custody. During a search of the home deputies confiscated a large amount of narcotics.
They located 104 vials of suspected anabolic steroids, human growth hormone, five vials of Cialis and eight vials of Viagra. Deputies also retrieved a bottle of white powdery substance late identified as cocaine.
Boccio was also in possession of a small amount of marijuana and more than $18,000 in cash. In addition to the sexual battery charges the suspect is facing one count of cocaine possession, one count of marijuana possession and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges may be filed against Boccio as the investigation continues.
