Polk deputies seek Auburndale home invasion suspect

Deputies say the suspect drove away from the home in this white, Chevrolet pick-up truck.

(BTLS Staff) AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Authorities in Polk County are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and tracking down a home invasion suspect.

An unidentified Auburndale man was shot during a struggle with the suspect. He was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he is listed in grave condition.

According to a Polk County Sheriff’s Office report a white male entered a residence on Brenda Lane just before 1 am Tuesday. A male resident was awakened and began to scuffle with the intruder when he was shot.

The suspect fled in a white, single-cab, Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck. Investigators say he is an older white male, stands approximately 5’9” and has a medium build. He weighs between 160 and 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray or black-colored beanie, dark clothing, dark shoes with a bandanna across his face.

During their preliminary investigation deputies turned up two pounds of methamphetamine inside the victim’s home. They do not believe this incident was a random act of violence.
