Police seek suspect who brutally kicked woman carrying baby

Brown, 18, has a long rap sheet despite his age. If you see him contact local law enforcement.

(WABC) BRONX, New York – Police are looking for a man they say brutally kicked and robbed a woman in the Bronx, and the entire incident was caught on surveillance video.

The incident happened just before 1 pm. last Friday in front of 1155 East Fremont Avenue.

The video is so clear; police quickly figured out the man lurking in front of the bodega is 18-year-old Alonzo Brown.

You can watch a woman walk by with her baby past him; an easy target for a cold blooded criminal who turned to follow her.

Then, he broke into a run and drop kicked her to the ground, on top of the baby.

He grabbed her phone and ran away.

“He doesn’t have a heart,” the woman told Eyewitness News in Spanish. She’s so terrified she wouldn’t show her face to Eyewitness News and wants to be known only as Odilia.

Her 3-month-old son Jordy is amazingly safe after she landed on top of him. He had been snuggled in a sling when that kick came out of nowhere.

“Hitting someone, especially a baby? A person like that shouldn’t be on the street,” she said.

Police agree. Sources say Brown, just 18 years old, already has quite a rap sheet, including 11 arrests in just the past three years. They’re trying to find him for arrest number 12.

Neighbors on East Tremont Avenue couldn’t believe the brazen attack and hope the suspect is caught soon.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
