Panthers coach, family okay after fire rips through home
(WBTV.COM) CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The top story of Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera’s home is destroyed after a fire broke out early Monday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
The fire started just after 4 a.m. at Rivera’s home on Heydon Hall Circle in south Charlotte. Fire officials reported seeing heavy smoke and fire coming from the home when they arrived.
Fire officials said Rivera and his family were not injured in the fire, but appeared shaken up. No word on what started the fire.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out before 5:30 a.m.
