Charles Tan, 19, is facing one count of second-degree murder.

(WROC 8.COM) PITTSFORD NY – Police have made an arrest after a man was found dead in his home near Pittsford. A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged with second degree murder. 49-year-old Ling Tan died of gunshot wounds to the upper body. Tan’s son, Charles Tan, is charged with second degree murder in the death of his father.

Charles Tan and his mother, Qing Tan, were found waiting in the driveway when sheriff’s deputies arrived at Coach Side Lane, south of the Village of Pittsford, around 6:10 last night for a call of a domestic dispute.

Sheriff’s deputies found a shotgun in the garage early this morning as they processed the scene.

“The call to 911, which you probably heard there was an argument. I’m not sure at this point who the argument was between, but all three of the people lived at the residence,” said Chief Deputy Drew Forsythe.

Neighbors told News 8 they have seen police called to the home before for domestic disputes, but they never imagined they would wake up to this.

Tan’s 19-year-old son, Charles, was arraigned on murder charges at 6 am. His next court appearance will be on Friday, February 13th at 4 pm. He is currently being held without bail.

We will continue to have updates throughout the day.
