NY man found dead under pile of manure, wife charged with his murder

(WGRZ.COM) ATTICA, N.Y. – New York State Police have charged an Attica woman with 2nd degree murder in the death of her husband.

Charlene M. Mess, 48, was arrested and charged overnight. Her husband, Douglas W. Mess, was reported missing by his son on Monday after he failed to come to work.

State Police say they conducted an aerial and ground search of the family farm on Exchange Street Rd. in Attica, and found the 52 year old deceased and concealed within a mound of manure .

Mrs. Mess is being held without bail in the Wyoming County Jail.
